Taking that first step to ask for help already takes enough courage, especially if you’re not sure what you need yet.
But one thing is certain: you don’t need more confusion, and you don’t need a system that treats you like just another case number or pushes you into a “standard program” without understanding your situation.
At Kindbridge, we’re mindful of that. That’s why we use the Individualized Care Model.
Simply put, it means: you start with the level of support that fits your needs right now, and your care can adjust over time as those needs change.
What is the Individualized Care Model?
The Individualized Care Model is a flexible, responsive approach to support. It avoids a one-size-fits-all system and instead asks a more meaningful question:
What’s the most helpful next step for this person, right now?
It’s not a ladder you’re forced to climb. It’s a system designed to help you make progress without overcomplicating things (or overcommitting you to something you don’t need).
Instead of starting everyone in the same program, care is matched to what a person needs at the moment they reach out. Support can be lighter or more involved, short-term or ongoing and it can change over time.
You’re not locked into a single path. The care adapts as you progress.
“True individualized care is a partnership. It’s built through open dialogue, shared decision-making, and the understanding that people—not protocols—guide how often, how long, and in what ways support is most helpful.”
Michelle Hatfield
President and Chief Operating Officer, Kindbridge
What happens when you reach out to Kindbridge?
When someone contacts Kindbridge, the first step isn’t treatment, it’s understanding.
We focus on learning:
- what you’re dealing with,
- how intense it feels day-to-day,
- how long it’s been going on,
- what you’ve tried before,
- what kind of support you’re looking for,
- what kind of support will actually help,
- and what kind of support feels comfortable to you.
The goal isn’t to “sort” you into a box. It’s to understand the shape of your situation so we can help without wasting your time or energy.
From there, we recommend an approach that makes sense for your situation. For some people, that might be a brief, focused form of support. For others, it may be ongoing therapy or a combination of options.
The goal is always the same: to begin in a way that feels appropriate, doable, and supportive, not like being handed a pre-packed solution.
How does individualized care adapt over time?
Life isn’t static, neither is your care.
If at any point it feels like you need more (or less) support, we adjust. The goal is to help you move at your own pace while giving you the right resources at the right time.
- If you improve sooner than expected, we can step down to lighter-touch support.
- If things feel heavier than expected, we can step up quickly.
- If your needs shift (new stressors, new goals), we adjust.
Support can increase, decrease, or shift – based on what’s actually helping.
“Meeting someone where they are means honoring their voice. At Kindbridge, care is not fixed or prescriptive—it’s an ongoing conversation shaped by the client, adapting in frequency and focus as their goals and needs change.”
Michelle Hatfield
President and Chief Operating Officer, Kindbridge
What this means for you (in plain English)?
It means care feels less like “admitting” and more like… being supported by a system that can move with you.
- You won’t be pushed into something that doesn’t fit.
- You won’t be left guessing what to do next.
- You can start somewhere manageable.
- Your care can evolve without starting over.
Whatever your path looks like, it’s guided by you and supported by us.
A personalized path forward
At Kindbridge, starting care doesn’t mean choosing a program. It means starting a conversation.
The Individualized Care Model ensures that support begins thoughtfully and continues in a way that feels right for you, every step of the way.
